Reasons for our selections
Manchester City – City have won their last 7 matches and are yet to be beaten in the premier league. At home to a Bournemouth side who have had a rocky start with only a loss and a draw away from home, MCFC should make easy work of it.
Leicester – While Leicester haven’t had the best start to the 2016/17 season, but they’re fresh off a 0-3 win in their Champions League debut. In addition they’re at home to a Burnley side who have had a similar start to their season but have only managed seven attempts on target so far.
Everton – Given Everton’s great form, it’s hard to see Middlesbrough (even with their promising start) being able to break them down especially away from home.
Arsenal – Despite Hull’s impressive start to the season, Arsenal are undefeated against them in their last six matches and have won the last 5. Can’t see it being a high scoring affair but would expect a 0-1 win to Arsenal.
Bayern Munich – Bagging 8 Goals in their first 2 Bundesliga matches, you can only see them carrying on that trajectory when they play at home to Ingolstadt who are currently on 1 goal with a draw and loss.
Borussia Dortmund – While not having as good a start as Bayern, Dortmund are still looking strong and have the home advantage over Darmstadt 98 who have lost and drawn with Dortmund in their last two meetings.
Napoli – Napoli who are 2nd in the Serie A after 3 games, have won their last 10 home games and are against Bologna who have lost or drawn in their last 8 away games. Looks like it should be an easy win for them.
Lazio – Lazio haven’t had a good start to the season, but this is just their second home game against recently promoted Pescara (with their first ending in a 0-1 loss to Juventus who are unbeaten so far this season). We expect them to find their form and snatch the win here.
Atletico Madrid – Atletico will be throwing everything they’ve got at securing a home win to boost confidence for next weeks away fixture against Barcelona. Sporting Gijón have had a good start to the season but will have trouble holding off Atletico away from home.
